1940's Vintage Romance Styled Proposal
There is no limit to the ideas for an engagement session. Normally, it is just an array of pictures. It is beautiful and memorable. However, we have a styled shoot from Illinois that goes a step further. It tells the story of the beginning of a relationship in pictures.
The first date is how it starts. He comes to pick up his date and he brings her flowers. A very romantic touch.
They then go for a drive and he surprises her with a picnic lunch in the park. The day culminates with them enjoying the sunset.
Besides the story, this shoot also had another theme. It was set in the 40's therefore everything was selected to fit into that era. They drove a 1938 Chevrolet.
The clothes of both models was reminiscent of that time. Even her hairstyle was fashioned from that time period. They used props at the picnic such as the lamp, picnic basket and chest which also help to set the tone.
Styled shoots are great because they are an idea brought to life. In most cases they are not a real couple but the imagination of the photographer that turns fantasy into reality. We hope that if you were considering telling a story with your engagement shoot or even emulating a certain period that our shoot provided some inspiration.
