New York Wedding Photos
Weddings are a celebration of love between two people. They are an opportunity for friends and family to share in this wonderful event. But they can also be more than just a big party. This can be an expression of who you truly are by infusing culture into the framework of the affair. Cassandre and Alain did a magnificent job of including their Haitian heritage into their New York wedding. The couple originally had plans to tie the knot in Haiti but unfortunately they were not able to pull that off. But they did not want to completely forget their desire for a culturally focused wedding. They were able to incorporate aspects of their heritage in both the ceremony and the reception. Let's first start with the ceremony. Since they both have Haitian roots, their families are bilingual. In a unique twist, their ceremony was simultaneously performed in English, Creole and French. It allowed the guests to feel a part of the festivities regardless of their native tongue. It also gave their nuptials an international flavor. The reception was full of sights and sounds of Haiti. The guests heard Haitian music, they could drink Haitian beer and they also had Haitian food. The guests were also given plates with a portrait done by a famous Haitian artist. For Cassandre and Alain, they were able to have the wedding of their dreams even if it did not happen in Haiti. In addition, they also added a bit of pizazz to their nuptials by incorporating the color gold in their day. Gold is such a classy color and always allows you to stand out if you include it in your ensemble. It just speaks elegance. Cassandre wore a gold sash that she made herself, Alain wore a gold tuxedo jacket and the reception was decorated with gold and purple. If you or your family come from a different country, it is extra special to incorporate a part of your culture on your wedding day. This will not only pay tribute to your heritage but also help to make your nuptials more memorable and special. Cassandre and Alain showed that you can have an international wedding in the United States. Celebrate your culture.
