Cortney and Luke met a few years ago at The Georgia Theatre (Athens’ prime entertainment spot for UGA students). Over time the couple crossed paths again, sparking a love interest between the two of them. They began a love journey that would encompass memories of hiking and camping trips as well as adventurous trips to new places. Naturally, Luke proposed to Cortney at the Clock Tower in Rome, Georgia during one of their occasional travel adventures! She obviously said “yes” to the proposal and immediately began her wedding planning. They took part in a fun Engagement session around UGA’s North Campus. Luke made sure to announce his liberties to standing under the infamous “arch” as UGA grads have the privilege to do so. The session made its way from the campus grounds to the downtown area to photograph the couple in front of The Georgia Theatre, where they met! Making the time to document these two love birds was imperative because soon after the session had come and gone, Cortney knew Luke would be deploying and wouldn’t be arriving until the brinks of their wedding day just five months later. Being engaged to a United States Marine, she knew moments like that need to be absorbed just as every breath we breathe. For until she sees her groom again, that’ll be one more treasure she’ll have to hold onto. These pictures. And her engagement ring.
